Have you ever thought you were being healthy by adding pure maple syrup or molasses instead of white table sugar to a recipe? Guess what? Those are still considered to be refined and simple sugars, which are carbohydrates. And, even if you're grinding your own whole wheat or buying stone ground, while it's a healthier options, it's still carbohydrates. If you're sensitive to carbs and making these "healthy" choices, this could be the reason you're still gaining weight.
Here's a truth bomb: sweets, flours, starches, juice, any carb raises your insulin (blood sugar) sending any extra insulin to burn the carbs instead of your fat. Talk about self-sabotage!
Here is a link to a wonderful website with more info on carb sensitivity. And for those like me, there's even a QUIZ to see if you're carb sensitive! If you're wondering, I scored a 13 on the quiz. You'll see how crazy that is when you take the quiz.
I've chosen to cut out nearly all simple carbs and sugars. I can't tell you how amazing I feel and how quickly I'm losing weight. Cutting out inflammatory foods, carbs, and sugar are just a few key components in my coaching program. If you want to learn more about how YOU can get healthy, click here.
